Penelope Private Select Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana, USA
Reviewed April 10, 2026 (edited April 11, 2026)Nose - vanilla and caramel forward, light, airy, nice Taste - almost an artificial vanilla? Little toastiness, some wood, pretty light though. Finish - leaves some heeeeat behind, noce and bright warmth not too striking -
Woah - the nose is oaky with loaaads of chilled maple syrup. Not too sweet, some sark rich toast in there. The pallete is verrrry decadent. Tons! Of sweet rich maple sweetness up front followed with the heat of the bourbon youd expect. Follows with traditional baking spices and woodiness but also with a nice toasted chocolate. Very very nice pour, not too hot, but i do wish it was a little on the heavier side to compliment the maple profile a bit.

High West A Midwinter Night's Dram
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed March 13, 2026 (edited March 14, 2026)Iiiiiinteresting for sure. The noise is an herbal sweet mint almost. Some light cotton Candy fruit almost. The pallete is very neutral at first, then you get the port sweetness then the rye punch. Its an odd mellow herbal sweetness almost licorice like without the bitterness. Very intriguing pour thats great to sit with, not your every day pour -
What a pleasure - herbal amd earthy on the nose with some sweetness i cant quite pin. Maybe a sap of sorts. The pallet is similar, an herbal note forwards but its followed woth a briiiiight fruit like a cherry or orange. Mellows out very very well with some graininess. Another fun rye that is dynamic and smack on. Not too earthy, not too sour, spicey, etc.

Nose is very well rounded and on the brighter wheaty/grain side with nice crisp apple. Pallete is same same but spicy, nice leatheryness thays nice and easy. Finished with nice toasted nuts and a touch of chocolate. Great balance but missing a punch? Maybe just a hair thinner than id like, and not too sweet. Lil dry woody finish

This is an interesting one, first taste at room temp was good quality, but I don’t think for me. It knows was forward with baking spice and wood, and it’s pallet for the most part was the same with a finish of some dark fruit. There was some rice spice that came through nicely, but also those signature Corn? notes that I can’t quite pin down. Second floor was in a frozen rocks, glass, which mellowed out a lot of the flavors. Pretty straight forward pour thats heavier on the oak and dark fruit in a heavy way, not too sweet0.01 USD per Bottle

The nose is a wonderful wonderful caramel vanilla cinnamon to it. The first hit of flavor is a veeeerrrry good salted toffee. Its still light in feel even with its proof. Finishes with a bright oak and tartness to it. Not very oily and doesnt drink too hot for its proof. Its a light bright sweentess, but that toffee stands out0.01 USD per Pour

Hoooot on the nose at 107 proof. Theres some harshness to it, but theres a sweet leathery berry on the nose. This is like a special reserve turned up! The wheat is is a little more present and the fruits take a back seat. Its a bit thinner and more oily on the mouth feel, definitely holds its own, but im missing some flavor as a result of the high proof.0.01 USD per Bottle

The nose is very forawrd with a sweetness. Nice smooth caramel and cereal bread, but not many spices or fruit here. Pallette is kinda same same - nothing wild up front, followed with a good musty sweet oak. Like walking into an old room with wood floors and peanut dust - without the peanut flavor lol solid older pour thats smooth and mellow
