Tastes

Tobacco, baked bread, cinnamon, medium sweetness, and soft on the palate. Very approachable for a 100 proof, and amazingly complex for $39 (NH).

Licorice, caramel, cinnamon, clove, oak. Hugely complex, and hides the alcohol content well. Outstanding.

Bit of a letdown, given the price point. Very drinkable, with toffee and vanilla. But better options are available at lower cost.

Leather, tar, smoked meats, and a bit of brine of the back end. Like eating a sweaty work glove full of bacon, but in a good way. This was my first foray into peated single malts, and I enjoyed it very much.

All sweetness and light. This is a very easy, laid back pour. Honey, wildflowers, sweet-smelling grass, and a little astringency from the orange and lemon. A bit thin for folks that prefer denser, oilier drams, but very tasty.

Amazingly smooth, start to finish. Toffee, butterscotch, honey, cream, and custard. Not much burn, but it is delicious and absolutely one I'll buy again.

Heavy chocolate, coffee and cream on the nose and palate. Virtually no burn on the finish. This is close to being a flavored whiskey. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but it's so unlike a conventional whiskey flavor profile, it feels like a novelty more than anything.

Musky corn on the nose. Sweetness and a lot of corn, and some baking spices in the flavor. This may have just caught me at the wrong time, but I wasn't crazy about it.

Flat, chemical nose. Mineral quality and sourness on the palate, and a little dry for my taste. I'm surprised at its popularity

An easy drinker. Not complex, but a huge bargain. Keep it around for mixing, but not bad as a sipper.
