Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Heritage Barrel Rye (2023 Release)
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 3, 2023Open up after sitting for awhile. If I had this in a blind, the balance and smoothness (hate saying that), the words Jack Danials would have never crossed my mind. Nose is overly powerful but has notes you can get into, barrel char and caramel come forward, that carries though to the pallet. And there’s no pine! If I come across a bottle, I’m getting it. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2023-03 "Mighty Fine Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 17, 2023Great nose, there are some dry fruit notes but overall it’s very well balanced. I’m going to try it again tomorrow and then search for another bottle for friend giving! Does not drinks like 126.6 proof.99.0 USD per Bottle -
Joseph Magnus Straight Bourbon Finished in Sherry & Cognac Cask
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed November 3, 2023Typically I’m not impressed and go for the Murray Hill Club but this particular bottle is a cut above the rest. Enjoyable all around wirh just a hint of sherry to smooth it out.100.0 USD per Bottle -
Elijah Craig 18 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 1, 2023 (edited December 14, 2023)Nose: Not super strong but all oak Pallet: More oak Finish: Touch of char and heat but overall nice. The more you have it almost goes away. Oak and more oak, I can see why this is not for everyone but is it smooth and full of flavor. A little one dimensional, not in a bad way, but there’s just very traditional bourbon notes.150.0 USD per Bottle -
Angel's Envy Private Selection Single Barrel Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 27, 2023Kroger Barrel 210. Is a step above the regular, stronger nose and better and more balanced pallet. Maybe it’s just the AE bottle I have open but there’s just a touch of sourness I can’t get past.90.0 USD per Bottle -
Little Book Chapter 5: The Invitation
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 26, 2023 (edited December 20, 2023)This is a thinker bottler… Nose: Light with a hint of char Pallet: Overall very smooth for 117 proof with notes of cherry. Finish: Full bodyness comes through on the finish, dry with a nice linger. Been close to a year since I last had this, smooth for 117 proof, light nose, cherry on the pallet with a dry lingering finish. For the rarity and price, I haven’t been impressed but it has gotten better. Will need to try another expression.150.0 USD per Bottle -
Chicken Cock 8 Year Double Oak Kentucky Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 24, 2023Always happens, getting down to the end of the bottle and now it opens up. It’s all oak now and the profile has really smoothed out. Need to compare again the gold standard, Woodford Double Oak to see how it lines up. -
Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2023 (edited December 11, 2023)Nose: Dry, floral notes Pallet: This is where the blend gets odd and where the wheat comes out. I can feel both of them battling. There is a spice but the some floral wheatness comes through. Finish: Rye heat on the finish but is short. Longterm dry notes This is something that you can slowing enjoy neat and let let the heat linger and then go back for another taste. I feel adding the cube of ice would mellow it right out.80.0 USD per Bottle
