Chicken Cock 8 Year Double Oak Kentucky Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 24, 2023Always happens, getting down to the end of the bottle and now it opens up. It’s all oak now and the profile has really smoothed out. Need to compare again the gold standard, Woodford Double Oak to see how it lines up. -
Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2023 (edited December 11, 2023)Nose: Dry, floral notes Pallet: This is where the blend gets odd and where the wheat comes out. I can feel both of them battling. There is a spice but the some floral wheatness comes through. Finish: Rye heat on the finish but is short. Longterm dry notes This is something that you can slowing enjoy neat and let let the heat linger and then go back for another taste. I feel adding the cube of ice would mellow it right out.80.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: Super sweet with heavy notes of fruit Pallet: Nothing overall exciting but pleasant. Finish: Hint of lingering heat and then calms down to a long fruit finish. This has been in the cabinet for a couple of years and the time has really done it good. I will get another bottle, crake it open and let it sit.

Old Forester Rye Single Barrel
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 20, 2023 (edited October 16, 2023)Nose: changed after opening up, lots of caramel and almost sweet. Pallet: No 95/5 and no pine. Some overall spice with a little heat. Dry. Finish: Before a touch of water it was hot, now it’s just a little heat and then it’s gone but the pallet does linger. Started with no water but didn’t get much out of it, really opened up with a touch of water. I get a dryness if i drink to much Blantons, if Blanton was a rye, it would be a lot like this. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Historic Barrel Entry
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 2, 2023 (edited April 4, 2023)What a nose and I actually get a little banana on the pallet. For 90 proof there is lots of oak and flavor. The finish does have some oak and bitterness or char which is interesting but a bit sour. Wish this had an age statement or a reference to how much longer it was aged to see if it was really the lower entry proof or more time in thr barrel. I only have a store pick for regular Woodford so it’s completely different.130.0 USD per Bottle -
