Murray Hill Club Blended Bourbon
Bourbon — (blended & bottled in Washington D.C.), USA
Reviewed March 5, 2023Nose: Smokey berries Pallet: Balanced rye and oak Finish: Dry oak spice Leaves just enough dryness and spice to keep you sipping. This is more oak forward than most will like but it works really well in this blend. -
Nose: Now that it have opened up it was softened to buttery with dry barrel notes. Pallet: Tart fruit with a spice that covers the tongue. Finish: Full proof spice finish that lingers long enough. The best part of this pour tonight. Does it live up to the hype… in past samples hit has but tonight it’s falling a touch short. Must be one of those night.

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 18, 2022 (edited November 25, 2022)Nose: Balanced sweet oak Pallet: Oak and char that turns to a touch bitter spice Finish: baking spice and vanilla What I would consider a traditional bourbon all around and a bottle that you could drink all of the way down. Different than a barrel proof that needs the proof to give the flavor body but burns the pallet. It took a long time and a number of favors to get this bottle but I’m on a journey to find another ;)60.0 USD per Bottle -

George Remus Single Barrel Cask Strength Straight Bourbon (2022 Release)
Bourbon — Indiana , USA
Reviewed October 24, 2022TJ’s Market Store Pick 2022 7 year, 114.2 proof Nose: You have to breathe in deep but I get dark caramel and barrel oak. It took it awhile to open up. Pallet: Brown sugar with aging fruits. One of the best weighted mouth feels I’ve had in a while, just perfect to chew on. Finish: Tobacco finishes into the brown sugar that you get on the pallet. There is the right balance of proof and spice that will make your whole tongue tingle. It does not drink like 114.2 proof which is a great complement. For a daily drinker I love it, but wonder for that pour with a cigar if it was 10 / 15 points higher it would be pairing! However, then I’d likely not finish the bottle.65.0 USD per BottleTJ's Market
