Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal Cognac
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed October 23, 2017 (edited December 21, 2017)Nose: juicy red fruit, dried cherries, raisins, prunes, carmel, wood. Taste: sweet, red Swedish fish (the candy), dried cherries, prunes, wood, spice, vanilla, figs. Very smooth. Great Cognac, probably my favorite so far. 5/5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -
Nose: smoke, vanilla, smoked meat Taste: peat, smoke, salted smoked meat, more salt, pepper, a little spice. At 57%, you gotta add some water, otherwise you have to wait awhile for the heat of booze to chill out. Great scotch, but Uigeadail is what I would stick with for a bottle purchase above the 10yr in the standard line.

Highland Park Magnus
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed October 18, 2017 (edited October 19, 2017)Highland Park Magnus: Nose: smoked red vines licorice, dried fruit. Eventually fresh roasted candied nuts like the kind at a baseball game. Taste: touch of dried cherries, wood, vanilla, more wood, salt, herbal, eventually maple. reminds me a little of a rougher Talisker sometimes. A few drops of water helps smooth it out. Some smoke and peat on the finish. Less sweet than the 12 year, lets the smoke stand out a little more. I dig it, great for the price. -
Hennessy Privilège VSOP Cognac
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed September 28, 2017 (edited June 8, 2019)Hennessy VSOP: Nose: sweet, dried fruit, aged gummi bears, woody, floral. After some time: vanilla frosting, amaretto Liqueur Taste: sweet, spice, wood, nice warm finish. Kind of a sweet coffee nutty finish. 3/5, I like it -
Courvoisier VS: Nose: fresh fruit, wood, spice, Taste is fruity, spicy, woody. Good amount of alcohol burn on the finish. It calms down with some time, but more that I would like there. Not the best cognac I've had. Reminds me of cheap whiskey. I just downed the last of the 50ml bottle. I couldn't go for another sipping and nosing 😑
