So rich and full. Nose is dark and complex, palatte and finish are even darker with rich, deep fruit notes. A little drying at the high proof. Totally got lucky and had for $7/oz at a local haunt.

Neck pour was not great. Had a medicinal overtone very atypical for OF. After a few additinonl pour this has opened up and gotten better.

Bottle design is great. Juice inside... Not so much. Maybe it's just me or the barrel I got but this is sharp and thin and not much else. Has become a pretty expensive mixer.

Great rye for bourbon lovers. Gentle spice on the finish that balances perfectly with the traditional bourbon overtones.

Was looking for a little more from this bottle. Palette is a little thin, overall oak and spice is ok just not enough... Until you add a few drops of water. Opens up nicely after 10min and a few drops. A little too much Acetone that overshadows the nicer parts of this pour though.

Outstanding! Everything you want from a barrel proof and still surprisingly easy to drink. Rich, warm, sweet complexity that lingers for days. Job well done Heaven Hill! Was really looking forward to trying this one and it did not disappoint.

Picking up bitter orange and not enjoying. If it wasn't whiskey, I might pour it out. 😱

A great bourbon to cut your teeth on. Classic caramel and vanilla notes, a little warmth, and a smooth finish. Nothing unique here, but it's a simple on ramp to the bourbon highway.

Sweet and fruity. Almost apple juice on the nose, smooth as butter on the first sip. Good whiskey. Could benefit from a bit more bite.
