Rich, fragrant nose. Malt, sherry, walnuts. stings the nose a bit. Explodes on the palate, acidic burst of flavor. Loooong finish, all the elements stay on the tongue. Almost seltzer like. Strong sherry flavor, but a balancing maltiness as well. A must try for sherried scotch fans, this us like Macallan from concentrate. 5/15/1928.0 USD per PourOn the Rocks

Smells nice, floral soap and fruit, almost could be an air freshener. Some cinnamon as well. Nose is the best part. Palate has good flavor, although a short finish. Some clove honey, an herbal note. A bitterness, pecan nibs, at the end. Somewhat straightforward, solid for the price. 5/4/1925.0 USD per Bottle

Davidson Reserve Four Grain Tennessee Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 1, 2019 (edited June 21, 2022)Smells young, tastes young. However, the young notes don't dominate so much that the other aspects aren't noticed. There's some floral notes on the nose. On the palate, some caramel, some dark chocolate. Lots of spice. Good heat. Definitely needs some more years, but promising. 5/1/19 -
Crown Royal Noble Collection 13 Year Blenders' Mash
Canadian — Canada
Reviewed April 28, 2019 (edited January 10, 2020)Bright and sweet on the nose, like sour candied apples. Oak is there, and burnt sugar. On the palate, sweet notes, like toasted caramel and pie filling up front, then salted butter towards in the middle. A cinnamony spice prickles the tongue for a while. This is like buttery fruit pie. Slight astringent wood notes, pepper, and furniture polish on the finish, and mild bitterness lingers. Pleasant sipper, with strong enough flavors. Well done, Crown Royal. 4/28/1948.0 USD per Bottle -
Surprising herbal note kicks off the nose. Cinnamon and roasted corn. Shaving cream on the palate. Soft on the tongue considering the proof, but there's a heat, prickling sensation, that hits right in the middle between the sinuses and throat. Unique in that sense. Spice lingers for a looooong time. 4/26/19

Barrell Craft Spirits Gray Label Bourbon 15 Year (2018 Release)
Bourbon — (bottled in) Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 26, 2019 (edited November 23, 2019)Balanced, pleasant nose. Nothing sticks out but it's complex and good. After a while it opens up, nuts, salted butter, and cotton candy. Some maple syrup. Splash of fruit, and artificial sweeteners found in vitamins. On the palate, familiar peanut profile. Perhaps less intensely nutty than the 14-year store picks, but of that ilk. Some Flintstones vitamins. Candied Granny Smith apples. Soft finish, but not short. 4/26/19 -
Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 26, 2019 (edited July 15, 2020)Great nose, spicy oak, rich caramel. Leather. Smooth for the proof. Velvety almost. Slight cinnamon. A hint of bubble gum at the back if the throat. Not as fruity as other 4R offerings, it seems. There's a slight young note. Pecan nibs at the end. 4/26/19
