Prav Saraff pick... the Madeira influence manifests strangely... reminds me of a flower that at the same time smells pleasant and funky... like walking past a dogwood. It's very polarizing. Perhaps it'll develop/soften with air time. 1/3/2020

Best batch since the 2017 batches.

Slight floral notes.

Strong malt on the nose, with a burst of fruit. Stings the nose as well. On the palate, not as sweet as you would expect initially, the sweetness creeps up. A bit of smoke and spice at the end. Dry finish. 1/1/20

Doesn't taste as young as it could, which is a plus. Some layers. 1/1/20

L940, 126.96 Proof. Smells like grass and cardboard. Oily texture but palate seems thin. Tracks the nose. Maybe a hint of milk chocolate. Spice. Otherwise an understated palate. Almost boring, but not offensive. 12/6/19

Solid nose, fresh... at first. It then morphs into weirdness. Weirdness on the palate as well - strange, tastes like the smell of a house of cats (used kitty litter?) infused with five-spice. What happened. 12/6/19 The more I think about this, the more I think something went horribly wrong for the 2019 batch. This should not have been bottled. Its undrinkable for me. Usually one of my favorites.

Smells like... MGP. Soapy dill, fresh linens. Sweet on the tongue at first, morphs into something different (turpentiney tea), finishes with spice and cacao nibs. It's like three different whiskeys. Interesting. 12/6/19

Caramel on the nose. Toast as well. Strong rubber note on the palate. Lingering spice. Spicy sweet car tires. 12/6/19
