Tastes

Smells fruity and spicy, with a surprising musty, young note. Fragrant. A hint of maple syrup. On the palate, a young note at first, some turpentine, then cider like sweetness and tartness, with a nice spice that lingers. Sharp, almost a bit of astringent balsa wood that I get with some whiskeys. Seems like this will open up? 11/17/19

Light nose, faint funk, opens up with time. I also get berries, some honey. It's light, but there's a lot there. On the palate, rich. Robust, depth, and strong spice. Seems layered, complex. Finish has a strange note to it, not necessarily bad, but unique. Finish is long, changes. This requires attention and thought. I think the price will throw people off, but this is good. 11/8/19

Smells like... Wild Turkey bourbon! C'mon, really?! This is sweet, sweet tea, like Bojangles. Not too complex, but delicious. Smooth and creamy. Finishes with light citrus zest. Great sipping rye. 11/8/19

10/5/15 bottling, barrel 616, warehouse T, Rick 1, Liquor Barn Series 4. This is fantastic. Sweet tea, creamy, good finish. Good store pick. 11/5/19

Mild nose, not surprising given the proof, soapy almost. Opens up after a minute. On the palate, this is definitely one for the Japanese market, it's mild but still complex. Some floral notes, slight spice, long finish. Smooth yet flavorful, almost like a watered down Master's Keep 17. Would love to taste this at barrel proof. 11/8/19

Smells young, but less so on the palate (although young notes are still there). Intense heat. Cherry syrup lingers. 10/12/19
