Canadian Club Chairman's Select 100% Rye
Canadian — Canada
Reviewed May 18, 2021 (edited April 28, 2022)Thanks @thatguys who suggested this Rye for cocktails. It's a $23 bottle that's smooth tasting, slightly sweet but not syrupy. I will be buying this again. -
Bowmore 12 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 9, 2021 (edited September 17, 2021)When my mom went to England, she asked what I'd like her to bring back and I said Islay Scotch. She bought this at Heathrow as it was recommended by the store clerk as a popular choice. It doesn't have the punch of Laphroaig but I enjoyed it. Thanks mom. -
This was listed in an article on the best value whiskeys on Flipboard. Is that still a thing? I bought it at Fred Meyers and didn't have to pay duty since I was returning from being stuck at my inlaws for a weekend (they'll never read this because they never drink..or admit to it anyway..being American Evangelicals). Hallelujah it was a smooth Bourbon and we sipped it neat at my SuperBowl party. Fucking Patriots won but the whiskey was good.

Laphroaig 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 8, 2021 (edited October 17, 2021)First tried this on a pub crawl in London where, after several pints of bitters and late night Shwarmas, a Glasgowian lass insisted on giving me a proper introduction to the varieties of Scotch. Islay was naturally the last taste. The salty sea, peat, and smoke wrapped around me like the fogs on the moors of Scotland where I spent my 10th year (not drinking Scotch). "I like this one best", I said.
