Tastes

Upon opening: we have found it to be...very Band-Aid-like....Remember the smell of old Band-Aids, that's what your dealing with. My mouth literally tastes like an ashtray. The flavor is just like that the entire way through. I should mention the overabundance of smoke on the first passing in our mouthed, but this is probably because they wanted to hide the Band-Aids.

Love Oban. Absolutely love it. This one blew me away. Far more full bodied than anything out of their main line. More peat, more heat.

Great on the palate. Quite balanced. Id buy a case, but only from Costco

Alright!! First , I've never had this and here we go...:lychee, right off the bat. Hot oceanic Papua New Guinea Tropical fruit...lychee...Smoke, yes, but not overwhelming. Last but not least, dark spicy rhum covered raisins. Solid front and mid palate but unfortunately, it drops off considerably on the back end. More note descriptions in next post....

I'm not sure if my palate has changed over the last 3 years or so, but I really enjoyed this. Had it paired with a Whiskey Soaked Brioche Bread Pudding with a silky crème fresh on top. The OF15 was hot, yet perfectly rounded body. Dark roasted nutmeg and Hazelnut flavors with a long yet not over powering finish. Complimented the desert well.

One of my favorites, especially at under $20 per two ounce pour. Mellow and easy going, a bit of floral notes on the nose and balanced oak to heat characteristics.

Hot! Really hot & dense! Even had this after an Old Fitz 15 2021. Loved that, but there's something about this that didn't appeal to me. Even Shenks' had a bit of something alike from this that didn't feel right. Reply below of you've had the same feeling.
