Great rye spice, nice sweet finish with hint of the port barrel

Great highland with flavors of nuts, light floral, and a barely noticeable (maybe I imagined) smokiness.

Expected a spicy rye with subtle bitters and overly sweet vermouth to balance. Pleasantly surprised it was really well put together. Poured neat, it’s easy to taste a smokiness and slight spice, possibly from a blend of the Campfire and Rendezvous whiskies. Slight sweet from Vermont and bitters. Mellows quick when on the rocks. I’d recommend putting it in a shaker with ice to chill and strain into a glass to preserve the flavors.

A good scotch. The oak is not over powering as expected, but does come through nicely. Not sure if seasoned enthusiasts would be happy given other options at this price ($50 in Midwest US). Sweet start, oaky and nutty finish.

Strong barrel flavor. Good drink but others beat it at price point. Needs a bit of water or ice.
