Found this at Costco. Fantastic dram. Neat, it has a subtle spice and a great feel in the mouth, almost the viscosity of a thin simple syrup. With a single ice cube, warmer notes with citrus, sweet wine, and vanilla come out nicely. Definitely a favorite.

Rye spice and sweet corn layered on a poignant oak aging, subtle smoky flavor. They get 100% for truth in advertising.

Sweet at the start but not overwhelming. Finished Spicy but smooth. Compared to Pact 5, this is a more traditional bourbon and had a longer, spicier finish. Personal preference was with the 5 because the rum cask was done well. But this is a great bourbon for those who like real spice and done have to sacrifice smooth consumption. Found this at Costco last year (2018) for $85. Seemed to be going for $100 elsewhere.

It claims to be “rich and gently smoky”, and I think that’s a very fair and accurate description. Oak was strong at first, but after a little ice the sherry came through a bit better. It reminded me of the Glenmorangie 18 but with a very slight peaty taste. Bought at Heathrow Duty Free World. £52 for one, £90 for two. All prices are for 1L bottles.

Great cask flavor coming off as a pecan or maple flavor. Fantastic with a bit of ice, really enjoyed it as a Manhattan with Carpano antica vermouth and some angostura bitters.

Perfect with a small ice cube or a bit of cold water. Balance of smoky peat and barrel notes is fantastic. Only wish it was easier to find is smaller markets but fun to hunt. Price is in Wisconsin, June 2018

Closer to its No 7 namesake than I hoped. But still a great sipping whiskey. Tasted light notes of caramel and clear vanilla. Spicier than gentleman jack single barrel, but in a good way, in a flavor profile (rather than alcohol content) Price I put was for a 375ml in Wisconsin. April 2019
