Lock Stock & Barrel Vatted Straight Rye
Rye — Multiple Countries
Reviewed June 24, 2022 (edited July 6, 2023)Sweet, subtle and complex on the nose. I wouldn't be able to guess if this was a Canadian or an American rye, but it smelled more like Canadian. On the palate, this is loaded with pleasant, complex flavors. The nose was deceiving as this tasted more like an American, but I still doubt I would be able to guess in a blind tasting. Punches above its weight at 100 proof. Lots of oak. Subtle brown sugar and leather marries beautifully with subtle baking spice and the perfect amount of oak. I'm pleasantly surprised by this blend. I would happily buy this again.70.0 USD per Bottle -

Remus Repeal Reserve Series V (2021 Medley)
Bourbon — Indiana , USA
Reviewed November 20, 2021 (edited July 13, 2022)Nose: rich oak. Toffee. Deep amber color. Dark chocolate. Dark fruit. Vanilla. Cream. Palate: Oak. Cocoa. Caramel. Vanilla. The oak is well developed but not overpowering. Complex symphony of flavors. Sweet cake-like notes from the rye. This ryed distillate aged beautifully. Finish: All the best flavors left a medium-long impression. Ends with toffee, caramel, oak, sweet mellow rye.83.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: older, darker oak aromas. Hint of rye. Sweetness from both younger distillate and well-aged oak. Earth. Hint of caramel. Palate: Loads of oak. Tastes like older, aged spirit balanced out by sweet corn spirit. Rye is prevalent on the finish. There has to be 15+ year-old spirit in this, but the sweeter, milder notes from the younger spirit blend well with the dark oakiness if the older spirit. I have a hard time believing this is 100% Willet distillate since they've only been distilling for around 10 years. Very rich and complex for this price point. It is a must buy if you like the flavor profile.

You might love this one, and you might hate this one. This has plenty of sweet corn and smoke, but not peat. It's like drinking hickory smoked corn. Drink this one with some BBQ. I loved it, but I would only buy it if you're feeling adventurous because this won't agree with some people's palates.40.0 USD per Bottle
