The oily texture of this rye is very nice and inviting. The rye finish is forward and present and works nicely with citrus and sweetness on the front of the palate. Vanilla for days on the nose! I enjoy this offering from Castle and Key every time I sit down for a dram! Wonderful job Marianne Eaves! What a difference a year makes!

Sugar cane on the nose, dill, and mint that translates to the palate. Sugar cane all day long!!!!!!! I really enjoyed this dram!

I know there is a lot of frustration or hype with this offer from Heaven Hill in regards to price in comparison to Heaven Hill 6 years BIB. Putting price aside the Heaven Hill 7 year is one of my favorite offerings from Heaven Hill. Not overly oaked or to sweet, but it’s a nice flavorful bourbon.

Dark fruits on the nose. Cherry, plums and maple syrup. Which in turn translates to the palate. Really a nice barrel selection.

No a traditional rye, but it’s very flavorful! Not off putting in it’s uniqueness. I get dark chocolate on the nose and palate. A nice sweetness that marries nicely with the oak! Chattanooga is definitely on top of their game. I like it, I like a lot!

Vanilla and oak are present on the nose which in turn transfers to the palate. Some leather and dark fruits on the palate as well. Not a mouth drying bourbon it coats the palate nicely. I suspect that it’s sourced from Jim Beam. It puts me in mind of some of the 13-15 year Knob Creek Single Barrel store picks I have had. An enjoyable dram!
