Definitely smokier than the original. It’s not a pest bomb but right after the peat there is a sickly sweet almost antifreeze flavor after. It’s a poor man’s black label. I don’t completely hate it though.

There is an immediate sweetness similar to a slightly bitter honey, there is noticeable red wine notes that either come off as spicy and bold or a bit pungent and in some moments to me actually off putting. the finish isn’t very long but holds a spicy, semi-dry finish. this probably ranks 4/5 from the cask finish line. I found port to be more palatable, and the peated to be a good combo between peat and speyside sweetness.

I thought it was pretty solid for a blended, a good amount of butterscotch and caramel, flavors finishing with almond and spice. I enjoy it more than Jameson

Very strange. It’s a sweeter whiskey to begin with, has a Carolina barbaque sauce kinda tang to it. Very subtle spice. It’s like if you mixed whiskey and barbaque sauce together. It’s not for everyone, but outside drinking capabilities I’m sure you could use this on the barbaque pit to marinate steak or adding this to any dish within reason.

Short lasted but sweet notes up front, the body is somewhat bland and uncomplex, mostly mostly iodine and slight hay and malt. The finish isn’t too long but has a solid peaty, spicy finish. The peat is light-medium with this dram. Is this a substitute for ardbeg, Bowmore or laphroaig? not likely to be enjoyed as much as those if you are already a fan of the other whiskies. It is although a good intro to islay whisky or a quick everyday scotch for the price.
