Starward Two-Fold Double Grain
Other Whiskey — Victoria , Australia
Reviewed January 9, 2024 (edited January 10, 2024)Despite having more wheat than malt, i feel the malt definitely overtakes the wheat. There is a rush of malty cereal, vanilla, toffee, walnuts and oak. Then comes some hay, more toffee and some tannins mingling withba sweeter red fruit notes. the finish is a bit spicy and hot especially for an 80 proof whisky. The finish is a long and like i said spicy, with a tannic fruit coming in. its solid fot the price i paid (26usd). i live weird mashbills and cask finishes and this has both. Good everyday sipper.26.0 USD per Bottle -
Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel
Canadian — Manitoba, Canada
Reviewed January 8, 2024 (edited January 28, 2024)I thought crown royal was kind of whisky that no one drank other than college kids or old men who “only drink crown”. I thought there was no serious bottles in the lineup as the original is laughable, black was rancid, reserve being mid at best as well as xo. but its only until i had this bottle that i was floored. Right off the bat there is a rush of vanilla and maple, sweet brown sugars and a nice oakiness. You get some apple and lighter berry notes as well. Apple pie crust. the finish is semi dry, warming with alot of gentle but prevalent spice. I think the higher proof and more legitimate mashbill made this so much better, Its a very flavorful and rich candian that is also gentle enough for all kinds of enjoyment. all in all i think this is so far my favorite canadian whisky, and ill be honest ive never had a canadian that floored me but this would be it.46.0 USD per Bottle -
Ballechin 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 4, 2024 (edited January 5, 2024)creamy and rich, a rush of vanilla and toffee, brown sugar, oakiness, bits of leather, maduro tobbacco, dark fig, spice, a bit of funkiness when it comes to the peat too which works well with the full flavors. Like another said its less smokey peat and more earth peat which is nice. The sherry cask does mix well with the peat. a nice and rich peated highland. much different from the briney, smokey, and oily islays, closer to the springbank and campbeltown whiskies. excited to try other expressions from edradour!70.0 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2024 (edited January 18, 2024)Runs rigns around old no 7, but imo not big enought for the hype. Light caramels and vanilla dance around before some moderate oak, hay, black pepper and slight leather kick in. theres a bit of fruitiness reminiscent of weller 107 but doesnt come off as intense. The finish is medium length with a mildly peppery/baking spice and slight sweetness. More oak appears right before disappearing off the palate. Its a good whiskey but idk if id go the lengths others would for it. im content with single barrel and if worse comes to worse, bonded. nice to try though. -
Rush of caramel, light tannin, cloves, vanilla that midway comes into lighter caramel, heavier oak, baking spice, leather, dried fruits, and hay. The finish is long with a drier, spicy finish. Personally its a good weller, but weller antique is still my fav in the line up. Regardless its still relatively smooth and sweet for its proof.

Port Charlotte SC:01 2012
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 30, 2023 (edited April 21, 2024)To begin, we get some sea salt caramel, oak, wet hay, bits of vanilla, leather and white pepper, then getting some heavier oak, dried fruit, tinges of apricot and the rush of peat. the finish has a lighter fruit note, peat, mild brine. The finish is long and rich, withinimal ethanol burn. Fantastic islay, reminds me of the ardbeg 13 harpys tale but with more complexity. -
A little disappointed. Vanilla, caramels and honey on the front with some very mild oak and hay, applewood and mild tinges of smoke. The finish is short to medium length full of honey, smoke and sweet apple wood. For the price im not thoroughly impressed. Its pretty light and mild on the smoke. This is not a rye either which is very obvious from the flavor. A bit lack luster imo for the price but a reallt easy drinking whiskey from my POV. Unique but not unique enough.68.0 USD per Bottle

Fresh green agave thay translates to a more roasted agave. Dashes of vanilla, slightest hints of caramel. Hints of green agave come back with a finish rich i. White pepper. I love tapatio, its got a label that terrifies the unassuming tequila drinkers but the ones in the know will understand. Great quality repo

Boone County Founder's Reserve Amburana Cask Finish Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed December 27, 2023A heavier almost malty note in this whiskey from what i could tell under the amburana. Burnt brown sugar, heavy oak, hazle nut, cinnamon and slight barrel char. the finish is medium length with a classix amburana finish that leave brown sugar on the tongue with moderate spice. so hard to pick a favorite amburana. -
