Nose: strong peat nose very rich. Some real camp fire smoke. Some sort of citrus fruit or a white grape. Palate: less peaty taste than the nose would expect its more of a fiery smoke than normal peat. Light honey and vanilla. Not much spice but the smoke reintroduces itself along with some traditional peat but still mostly smoke. Super easy to sip if you like peat and smoke! Very smooth and doesn’t overpower (as long as you’re used to peat)

Crown Royal Texas Mesquite
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 11, 2019 (edited February 12, 2021)It taste like it says. It’s a bbq’ed “whiskey” no doubt. I’m a sucker for Texas stuff so had to try. If your gonna drink it mix with coke -
Nose is actually very delicate for a peated whisky but the peat is the strongest along with the barley vanella and Carmel some sort of fruit if you dog hard for it like a red apple Palate: Carmel and vanilla up front that moves to a spikey Texas wood flavor followed by the salty peat finish. The finish isn’t incredibly long but takes its time. ( keep in mind I did not add water) Although it’s not as round with that intense middle a solid peated malt. I also appreciate the brand being a true Texas whiskey and not miss leading about using sourced whiskey(which they don’t) looking forward to trying more of their products

Easily one of my favorite Texas whiskeys. The sherry makes a huge presence on the nose along with red berries. That’s caries through the taste with the classic single malt taste but red berries make a big presence. Some vanilla and caramel but not as much as most whiskeys. It’s also creamy like an Irish whiskey. Finish is like an Irish as well.

Nose: honey, oak,and some cinnamon too. I got red apples after going back to it along with Taste: blast of sweet vanilla, brown sugar, and Carmel. I can see where some get a ripe banana and red apple flavor but it’s not as strong and the others. There is some cinnamon mid way with a strong oaky finish that hangs in there long after it goes down. All around dynamite bourbon that has everything that makes a good bourbon to me.39.0 USD per Bottle
