Batch #14 of this cask strength version. Nose and palate are very similar to batch #12 we tasted at the distillery. However, it’s just a bit more enjoyable sipping it from a Yeti Lowball on a camping trip! Versailles State Park, about 1.5 hrs SE of Indianapolis. Cheers!

Light in color and thin mouthfeel. Not a lot going on, but a decent rye. Makes a nice old fashioned. Probably my only bottle of this one.

Excellent whiskey. Musty grain and ethanol on the first nose gives way to a velvety smooth mouthfeel of sweet, sugary deliciousness. Nice spicy finish. Just amazing. First learned of this from a YouTube video from the Whiskey Tribe where distillers talk about what they drink when they’re not drinking their own creations. Check it out! 9/5/22 - Finished this bottle on a recent camping trip. So when we returned home, I did the obvious thing - quickly bought another bottle and one each for my son and future son-in-law!! Decided to visit an old friend this evening! Glad I did, this one never disappoints. Spicy sweetness all the way to the minty, cinnamon finish.

One of my favorite purchases from our KB Trail trip. Perfect for the final pour of my birthday evening.

Had been looking forward to trying this one. Got a chance on my birthday and it did not disappoint. Mellow oaky sipper.

7/14 - Definitely taste and feel the proof on this one! Fruity nose and cinnamon finish. 8/17 - Second taste is pretty much the same. Thought this may mellow a bit after being open for awhile, but she’s still hot! Nice flavor though!

Batch 1765A. Sweet on the nose, also a bit of alcohol. Thin mouthfeel, but flavorful. Not much of a finish. A nice bourbon, and happy to support an Indiana distillery, but probably wouldn’t repurchase this one. Wow! Second taste is much better! Very sweet nose. Flavor is deeper and more intense. Sweet and fruity. Still on the thin side, and isn’t the longest finish. But there’s a gum, tongue and lip tingle sensation that holds on for quite a while!! Certainly rethinking whether or not this would be a repurchase!! Upgraded from 3.5 to a 4. 8/26/22 - Has become one of my favorites. Finished up my first bottle this evening, and will definitely purchase the next one I see. Nice job Old 55. Proud to support a distillery from my home state.
