Had to try this bottle again after watching it win Whiskey of the Year 2022. Have to agree with Minnick and friends that it’s pretty tasty! But whiskey of the year? Still, pretty cool that Journeyman knocked off the big guys for the award. And they’re about 45 minutes away, so their stuff is readily available here!! 9/23/22 - This taste confirms it. Really enjoy this wheater. Excellent flavor and satisfying mouthfeel. And an enjoyable spicy finish. I’ll eat my words and say I get the ASCOT Award victory. Nice job Journeyman!! 11/25/22 - Batch 46, Bottle 139, 117 Proof -

Sweet on the nose and palate. Oily, viscous mouthfeel. Smooth and mellow sipper with a fairly short finish. Nothing extraordinary, but a pretty solid bourbon.

Been through several bottles of this one already, but it was part of our tasting at the distillery, so I didn’t turn it down! Tough to pick out a specific aroma on the nose. I get a sweetness, but the alcohol is there for sure. Plenty of heat if you sip this one neat; try it with some water for a different experience. Very enjoyable pour however you chose to drink it.

Had an opportunity to try this after our distillery tour. Although I don’t typically care for flavored whiskeys, this is pretty enjoyable. Lots of cherry up front and throughout the experience. Combines well with the cask strength Last Feather Rye they use as the base for this expression.

Very smooth for a rye. Fruity nose, presumably from the figs. Fruit flavors continue on the palate, as well as rye spice notes. Has a full mouthfeel, and minimal heat. A very different and enjoyable rye whiskey.

Slightly medicinal on the nose. In fact, that medicinal note carries onto the palate just a bit. Classic rye spice flavor follows, leading to a medium amount of heat and finish. Solid rye whiskey. 9/28/22 - One of the bottles we tried during our rye whiskey tasting. Musty grain on the nose this time around, followed by a dark fruit note on the palate. Short finish with a minor hug. Still enjoy this one, but for me, their Cask Strength Last Feather Rye is far better.

Vanilla sweetness on the nose. Vanilla continues on the palate, along with rye spices. Fairly thin mouthfeel and minimal heat for a rye. Decent rye, however the cask strength expression of this whiskey is considerably better.
