1792 Aged Twelve Years

I came upon this at my local store unexpectedly as I didn't know 1792 had a 12 year release. I was very pleasantly surprised. I really loved it. Nose: Sweet, fruit forward..lots of cherry flavor with vanilla and a bit of citrus. Palate: Vanilla, butterscotch and pear. Finish: long finish - you can taste the oakiness here , less fruit but still buttery. and the finish goes on. I was very happy with my purchase. It drinks flavor wise way above the 96.6 proof. And at $50 was a steal.

Nose: lots of caramel and some peanuts. Some vanilla too. Just classy bourbon notes I think on this. Palate: sweet initially with some oak coming through. Weirdly, I get cantaloupe towards the end 🧐. Basing this off of memory but it reminds me of Kentucky Owl Confiscated. Finish: short/medium length finish with vanilla lingering. Overall: pretty decent from 1792. I don’t think this should be a limited release though. Honestly can’t remember what I paid for it but I think it’s worth it. Not special enough for backups though I’d say.

The color is amber, somewhat deep and glowing. The oils are slight but heavy, immediately leaving the glass streaked. The nose immediately starts with floral rye, fresh fruit and bubble gum. It opens up and gives hints of vanilla, oak and caramel, but remains dominantly sweet on the nose. The palate is dry yet slightly chewy, filling the mouth with black pepper, floral rye spiciness with the fruit and bubble gum falling more towards the back. Creamier notes of vanilla and caramel are there, intermingling with the sweeter notes providing a nice balance. The finish is medium long with a lingering spiciness and chewiness, with the mouth full of the sweeter and floral notes while the creaminess fades earlier on.

I can definitely taste the spice and vanilla and fruit. Very good. Very bold and tasty

Uncorking- Nose- Sweet vanilla, caramel, oak and tiny bits of gentle spice. Taste- warm woods like oak and walnut, age comes in with some leathers, dry, less sweet than the nose hinted at. Tasted against the Sweet Wheat and it's the exact opposite of that one with the 12yr being a lot of dark rich flavors. Some spice keeps it interesting. Finish- dry with wood, caramel and vanilla but not a lot of sweetness at all. Tannic. Some spice adds a touch of warmth. Finish is short and the age comes through. You really get the barrel.
