Definitely taste some vanilla a decent amount a bite, a little bit peaty, and a tiny bit of something that tastes a little funny on my tongue. I can’t seem to place what it is - Whatever it is it is not offensive - just not my favorite - detracts from the good here. Happy to drink it but don’t think I’ll be buying a bottle.
Clover, wildflowers and just a hint of peat on the nose. Very mild palate with notes of cereal and a hint of charcoal. Easy, relatively short finish. A very well-balanced, easy drinker. A nice spring time drink.
This was my first foray into anything Auchentoshan and if it's any indication of their quality I will be trying others. Extremely drinkable with just a wisp of smoke and a long chocolate malt finish. I got this at a very advantageous price that I do not suspect is normal at $25 but would definitely have been happy even if I paid $40 for it. I suspect that even people that say they don't like Scotch would be surprised by the flavor profile and would drink it down. I would buy this again. Cheers!
Nose - apricot and dark fruits, smooth milk chocolate, some sharp sour notes, a bit of creamy custard
Palette - medium body, balance between sweet and dry notes, some sweet fruit and then oak tannins
Finish - the dryness hits first at the back of your tongue, then the sweetness lingers for awhile, medium burn
