Nice fruity wood nose, burn in the mouth with intense molases fruit aldehide, vanila retrotaste. Very medicinal initial taste… in the end somethin chemical.
Updated Review....I now have over 250 bottles. My initial sit down with this one I was very torn as to if I loved it or hated it. I'm now on bottle number 2 and it's become my one of my favorites. It can be totally overpowering especially for people that think Blanton's (Single Barrel) is the standard. Everything from the nose to the finish are over the top, this is absolutely the most complex bottle I own or have ever tried and all the notes confuse the hell out of some people. If you not a fan of heavily or even mildly peaty Scotch or American Single Malts ..you bought the wrong bottle. The biggest issue I see in the reviews is people expect this to taste like a bourbon. It's a 100% GOLD PROMISE BARLEY Single Malt that's been finished in FOUR different Spanish Sherry Cask..its not going to taste like bourbon. I have about 30 American Single Malt's and Scotch's and it is hand down my favorite and in my top three overall but it's definitely not for guys that are only into bourbon. If you have one and hate it, revisit a 2 oz. pour with a teaspoon of water. I've have friend try it and hate it, and after tasting with water they ran down a bottle.
Nose: Notes of sherry, raisins or wine, possible nuttiness and cinnamon
Palette: A large punch of ethanol with a deep tobacco, earthy note with sherry coming through after
Finish: A moderate lasting sherry finish with other fruits and some baking spices
Nose: sherry, raisins, raw walnuts
Taste: you can feel the sherry build up, and then a mellow wave of fruits and oak as you swallow
Finish: the sherry impact carries through to the end of a moderate to long finish, with a lingering spice
I am reading all the reviews and I am trying to find all the off flavors. All I get are dry fruits, sherry, some berries, banana, brown sugar. It’s quite delicious.
Not very hot for almost 60 ABV. Drinks quite nice. Mouth feel is light but has a very long finish.
Bottle has been open for a few months, 90% full.
Price is a little high.

Never had something smell so promising and be near undrinkable on the end of the palate and finish. It almost physically hurts to swallow. The wet cardboard and rubber note that is commonly talked about with this one is present at the end unfortunately.
