Hay, honey, vanilla, cherry nose with a hint of brown sugar. I’m picturing a danish pastry.
Tongue is drier than expected, shortbread and berry—like a cherry poptart, which dates me. Notes of molasses, brown sugar and cherry cough drops come along later.
Finish has a tangy medicinal note. Not my fav Barrell but it’s a cute trick and interesting.
Tried neat in @looneyhead speak easy. To the nares it’s warm with notes of leather, tobacco, brown sugars and oak
It’s surprisingly sweet to the palate. I get notes of candy corn, caramel, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, clove, and spice.
Nose: agreed with chocolate covered raspberries, toffee and maple syrup. Also charred oak, peaches, baking spices and brine. Sweet on the palate, with flavors of caramel, baking spices, charred oak, black pepper, a slight hint of vanilla, toffee, candy corn and bitter tea. Finishes rich and sweet with moderate spice throughout.
I let sit 15 mins. Chocolate raspberry on the nose and first sip. Hot but sweet. Second sip gets the heat but more tobacco and leather. Dried fruit. Finish is long and hot on the top of the tongue. Overall not great but a fun sip. I don’t think I have had chocolate raspberry on the nose. Taste like one of those Christmas chocolates going through puberty while you drink it.
