Basil Hayden Red Wine Cask Finish

Smooth, earthy berry flavors

I enjoyed this more than the regular BH. Could definitely see and taste the difference the red wine finish had on the Whiskey, was dry with some dark fruit and Oak tannin notes. Overall a richer and more fulfilling pour than what you normally get with this brand.

Never been a fan of Basil, and this doesn’t really change anything. The nose has some decent complexity; definitely getting a red wine influence with underlying oak. Palate is flat and 2-dimensional. Sweet, mildly fruity. Fair bit of dryness on the backend.
