I’ve past by this bottle countless times because Why but an Islay that isn’t peated? Boy, what a mistake. This is beyond delicious. It hits all my favorite notes and is so unique. It has what I can only describe as a pure barley taste that develops to a complex sweetness (honey?) that quickly transitions to a spicy Brine finish. Amazing.

Even though this isn't a peated whisky, there is absolutely a briny, shoe leather entrance to this pour, as well as toffee and Mossy, grassy, vegetal notes follow. The proof is potent, and reminds you what you had for a long finish.

The first of eight or nine whiskies I tried last night at a Bruichladdich event is a lovely dram for easy everyday drinking. There’s a touch of peat, but it’s light by Islay standards. I think I prefer this to the old 10. Easily a 3.5.
Very dry on the nose and palate. A bit fruity in the nose. It has a nice fruity sweet finish but not too smooth on the palate. No peat, maybe a bit ashtray taste.
