I love this whisky! I tasted 2 different batches in 2019 and 2020 and loved both. It is worth much more than what they ask for it. Being able to find the exact recipe with a code is a tremendous idea!
This gem starts with a strong strong mineral aspect, like small rocks on the seaside. Follows a strong maltiness and the cask influence, I can even smell the wine casks. There are hints of red wine and red grapes. The bourbon cask influence is perceptible as well with some citrus peel.
The abv makes it quite intense, which I love, but don't make it your first drink of the evening. The taste is very rich, the aforementionned mineral aspect comes back with brine, spices, nuts, malt and oak.
This bottling made me a fan of Bruichladdich and I prefer it to my way more expensive Port Charlotte 10. You have to try it!
