Color: Burnt Amber Nose: Alchohol, solvent, green apple, banana, honey Adding water brings out more honey on the nose. Taste: Peppery, sherry, nutty, oily on the palette. Adding water brings out more bitterness and spiciness. Finish: Pepper, honey, and nutty. Finish is short, but of good substance and flavor This was my second tasting from the same bottle. I gave it a lower score this time. Definitely a different taste compared to the first time. It will be interesting to see how it develops over time.

On the nose, I get caramel, sherry, butterscotch, bread pudding, and dry cereal. On the palate I get sweetness, oiliness, and some heat. The finish is astringent, warm, and of short to medium length. Overall, it’s definitely in the sherry bomb camp and the higher alcohol content gives it some heat.

Very peaty/smokey does not have the stereotypical "bite" I would associate with an Islay whiskey
