The neck pour on this bottle was not great. I was a bit disappointed to be honest and the finish was disappointingly short. But get it down to the shoulder and this becomes a wonderful whisky full of honey and vanilla and malty goodness with a medium to long finish.
This is a great pour for a beginner or an experienced whisky lover.
This is a more robust scotch, definitely heavier earthy flavors. I get leather, there is a semi moderate amount of peat. there is noticeable bourbon hints from the cask. There’s not a lot to talk about in my opinion. I wouldn’t buy a bottle myself personally. There’s just not a lot going on imo. I can see this being an intro into single malts from buchanans and walker fans.
