El Tesoro Reposado Tequila

My absolute favorite reposado. Smooth, slight toffee, beautifully balanced peppery finish.

Sting on the tongue, dry, flat. No sweetness. Alcohol

Nose - sweet cooked agave, lime, black pepper, vegetal earthiness, subtle caramel, moderate minerality, nutmeg, clove, light barrel char, cocoa, mild ethanol burn. Taste - sweet cooked agave, lime, tropical fruit, black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, vanilla bean, butterscotch, earthy grassiness, mineral notes, mild cocoa like char, mild alcohol bite, finishing quickly with fading pepper, citrus, chocolate, and agave flavors. Very solid, but not amazing. It’s a good sipper and makes a really nice margarita.

Neat. Nose is delicate and balanced. Roasted agave, oak saw dust, green herbs. Taste is agave sweet, exotic fruits, oak and cedar, touch of vanila, some grassy tarragon, mint, pepper and minerals. Finish is medium with a more natural sweetness than most that perfectly balanced with bitter and sweet. Mouthfeel is a honest middle. Overall, this is a natural and well crafted tequila.. No dominating artificial flavors, and lots of flavors to discover and enjoy. This is a sipper. Mixing and shooting would be a waste.. Sip and savor. This may be my favorite line of tequila
