Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon

My favorite mixer. I also will enjoy it neat. For the price it cannot be beat. It does have notes of being young. Some ethanol and burn. However it compensates with pleasing sweetness along with vanilla, carmel and oak.

Nose: brown sugar, dusty salted peanuts, corn fruit, vanilla, cola syrup. Palate: sweet caramel leads with a mix of baked apples and spice. Roasted peanuts quickly overtaking the mid palate, vanilla and sugar are blanketed by the nutty notes. A twinge of cola sweetness peaks through. A little barrel spice tickles the sides of the mouth. The finish is medium with nuts and cracked black pepper dominant.

The aroma is cinnamon and alcohol. The first sip hits with a burst of sweetness which evaporates quickly, like it's covered in powdered sugar that dissolves on your tongue. After that, strong spicy cinnamon (think Red Hots). Lingering cinnamon/chili spice feeling on the tongue. A bit of slightly herbal woody notes and boozy grains. Light to medium body. Not super sweet overall. A very drinkable bourbon for the price.

Strong and fine but strong and over hyped.

For the price, it’s awesome. However, it’s noticeably less awesome than Elijah Craig, Woodford, and Bulleit. If you can spare an extra $8, then buy those. If you’re tight on cash, then this is a darn fine whiskey.
