This is the best four roses product for myself. Haven’t enjoyed others but the proof is much better with the mash bill IMO.
Nose is bovine leather in a wheat field in July. Reminds me of home. Sweet, maraschino cherry. Some spice.
Palette is baked lemon bread from the old lady, spicy and rich. A bit acidic (like how what is my palette interpreting?) but I can finish the dram. Wouldn’t buy a bottle.
Smells a little sweet, took a small sip, it’s a bourbon burn, but subtle. Super subtle though. Dangerously subtle. I swallowed and my throat down to my stomach is warm. Still warm.
Nose: oak and cinnamon are prominent. Layers of ethanol, vanilla, brown sugar
Palate: spice, pepper, and summer fruits. Nice balanced richness with crazy mouthfeel.
Finish: straight dark chocolate, leather, oak, spice. Finish lingers long but medium in strength
Certainly better than the SiB but not by a large amount. Proof is perfect. The mouthfeel and creaminess is the real winner here. 7 on the t8ke scale
