Bottle kill! Cask Type: European oak ex-oloroso sherry cask Appearance: Chardonnay Nose: wet cut grass, very intense fruit, tropical notes like banana and pineapple, orchard notes like apples and pears, trace of baking spice, caramel Nose Diluted: not much different, caramel comes out Palate: caramel on the palate, orchard fruit like apples Finish: medium Comment: this scotch typifies the classic Speyside flavour profile, sweet and estery, complex, unpeated. Meh. Okay

NOSE Strawberry taffy, honey grahams, cocoa, dried cherries, sulfur and some banana-nut muffins. Not super complex, but not exactly a lame-duck aroma either. It just is. PALATE Strawberry taffy, honey grahams, cocoa, dried cherries, sulfur and some banana-nut muffins with a bit of cranberry and blueberry. Glenfarclas 17 Years’ palate is almost a carbon copy of the aroma but with some interesting added fruit notes. FINISH Medium -> Vanilla taffy, banana-nut muffin, cocoa, sulfur and a bit of leather.

As a major Glenfarclas fan, was only slightly disappointed. Smooth to a fault and strong fruit and spice, I would appreciate a little more hard oak notes. But overall, very good and long finish is a highlight in classic Farclas style.
