Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 29, 2024 (edited July 31, 2024)With a nose as sharp and crisp as cacha, this whiskey delights with a palatte of molasses, cayenne, and strong oak. For those who like the oakier side (like me) a strong winner. If smooth and corn be thy guide, look elsewhere. -
Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed July 8, 2024 (edited July 25, 2024)Putting the fruity virtues of the Beam profile on full display, this whiskey brings a spice and heat that match a good rye while also having oak notes a la the Devil’s Cut. Age statement to boot! Very well done. -
Amrut Intermediate Sherry
Single Malt — Bangalore, India
Reviewed March 31, 2024 (edited May 10, 2024)This whiskey was tailored to what I want in a sherry bomb. Juicy and balanced with a funky wood note. Brings to mind a tropical rainforest fruit tree. Very well done! -
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year

Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 2, 2023 (edited December 10, 2023)Very middle of the road Highland style. Heather honey with a bare wisp of smoke. -
Auchentoshan American Oak
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 29, 2023 (edited October 31, 2023)Absolutely suprising dram. On the nose, treated oak(!), honey suckle, and circus peanut (!). For an amazing price, the palatte provides darker notes of chlorine and orange. Serendipitous and very unexpected. It mat give me cancer, but worth it.
