Ilegal Mezcal Reposado

An intense Agave Spirit from the Ilegal company, distilled at Destileria Tlacolula in Oaxaca, Mexico, that is double distilled in copper stills. It's then aged in American oak before bottling. It has an aromatic birth with notes of wood, caramel. baked agave, cassia bark & chili; while a full life adds notes of butterscotch, caramel, soft wood smoke, cedar, pipe tobacco, agave & dried herbs; that led to a complex death of medium length with notes of oak cocoa powder & orange rind. Very smokey, sweet, spicy pepper on the nose, rich,

Light fruit, smoke, earth, light sweetness

Light aroma. Smooth light earth, carmel and smoke flavor followed by a light sweet tobacco. Nice smooth drink.

Smooth going down. Not overly smoky. Orange helps

A carmelly flavor, sweet like a bananas foster but with a little smoke.

Non demanding smoky sweetness with a little pear and oak.

Sweet and a little thin with some toasted wood. Should’ve tried this before the Del Maguey.
