The color is a very light gold that leaves a thin curtain of oils around the glass. On the nose, iodine is there but the added age helps to tame it. It shares the nose with brine, backed up by oak, vanilla and straw and barely sugar.
The palate hits the corners of the mouth with iodine, straw, some honey and brine. Oak and vanilla follow it up in small amounts for a nicely balanced whisky.
The finish is medium with a lingering spiciness from iodine as the creamier notes fade in a nice balance.
