As with each of the barrel proof releases, the variations are slight, but noticable. With this one there is a definite leaning toward maple syrup and nut breads. Of the two releases so far this year, we like this one best. It has a roundness, lovely body and a subtly rumbling heat that wakes up the tastebuds. Another excellent release fromt he folks at Larceny.
On the nose I get some char and spice with brown sugar, vanilla, and cherry. The palate is delightful with a huge load of sweetness, cherry and vanilla. Finish is nice with a fading spice. Nice pour for the price.
Definitely a great bourbon. Larceny BP has found its groove. It sure took long enough.
Two bottle in and I find it to be mild spice, caramel-mocha, vanilla, flat cherry coke, and a light almond note.
This isn’t as complex as A122, but I personally find this crushable AF. A122 took a lot longer to open up and drank hotter.
