Lock Stock & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey 13 Year

Dark and smooth a bit more woody than I expected but the deep color alludes to it. Decent overall and would get again

The nose has evergreen trees, mandarin orange, and cranberry with rye grains in the background. Oak, pine, citrus, and dark chocolate dance on the tongue.

I'm willing to try this out again in a month or so, but all I get in the flavor is strong pencil eraser notes. Just terrible. I'm astounded by all the positive reviews. I also ran into a similar situation with the WhistlePig Rye 15 year. Thinking there's a theme with me and Canadian Rye....

I just don’t love rye in general.

Vanilla, maple syrup and brown sugar nose, grassy, very smooth all the way

So smooth and creamy nutty, citrus creamsicle as well
