Reviewed April 14, 2024Good dark fruit flavors, good sweetness, and a good amount of chocolate. Definitely the best Canadian whiskey I've had. The chocolate and raost does linger for a bit. I like!68.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed January 12, 2022Lohin McKinnon Chocolate Malt 43% abv. Bottled in British Columbia, Canada by Central City Brewers and Distillers. Single Malt whisky aged in Sauternes Barrels. No age listed. Aroma: wine/sauternes barrels, fruity, sweet, a little brandy like Taste: complex, chocolate, brandy, sauternes/wine barrels comes through, just the right amount of sweetness. Long finish and very nice aftertaste which changes as you drink the bottle. It may be a little pricey for some but a very good and quality product that is worth the money. Highly recommend a try. Reviewed October 21, 2020For a "chocolate malt" whisky, it is not very sweet. I do taste a note of cocoa but this is by no means a dessert whisky. There's a bit of oak and vanilla, and no smoke or peat; it's almost bland once you give it a splash of water. It's okay, but I feel like the "chocolate" on the label is misleading because overall it doesn't contribute much to the tasting, and there's not a lot else to make up for it. There are other whiskies I would go back to before this.59.95 CAD per Bottle -

Reviewed July 13, 2019Dark, earthy, rich nose. Buttery palate, with tons of roasted malt that melts into a dark chocolate finish. Like a slightly burnt, sweetened butter. Lots of dried fruits, and a little baking spice too. My favourite of the Lohin McKinnon malts!
