BIG flavors. As a fan of Islays, this is something that wil smack you with a huge flavor profile. Theres definitely peat but also sherry, dark fruits, oakiness, some chocolatey/coffee, some mineral flavors and a whiff of that notorious C-town funk. Absolutely fantastic!

Now we’re talking sweet smoke, not a harsh push you away smoke, this is an inviting rich smoke on the nose. Honey glazed meat on a embered fire with little smoke. (Compared to ledaig, caol ila, laphoroaig etc.)
Taste is full, that 46% bringing through the flavour. Really lovely. Cant complain on this one apart from the scarcity of sourcing a bottle!
Nose: strong notes of peat, and leather
Taste: spice and peat come out quickly, with softer notes of brine, pepper, raisins and vanilla
Finish is medium lasting, with strong dry taste of oak

More Campbeltown joy. Heavy flavors of malty sugar and peated vanilla with a dusty woodsy resinous smoke profile. Creamy and delicious animal crackers and well oiled leather combine with a touch of Springbank to deliver another winner. To quote Aliens " some sort of secreted resin....yeah but secreted from what"....solid A rated scotch....90/100
The nose is roasted pear and apple. The peat is very subtle compared to an islay but its there. Funky old cheese is also present. The salty, brine shows up nicely as well.
The palate is close to the nose. The mouthfeel is a little thin when compared to Springbank but not compared to most youngish Scotch. There is some smoke and tart candy with wisps of malt and that funky cheese.
The finish is medium with some gin like herbs showing up.
A very different whisky experience that i enjoyed
