Vanilla, caramel, banana, cinnamon on the nose. Palate is vegetal and slightly bitter, with a subtle cigar tobacco finish. A smooth sip and not too robust in any specific direction, about to try in a cocktail.
My go-to value mezcal. The nose is pure burnt rubber and some of that translates to the palate. But the taste is much more nuanced with a delicious smoke and tobacco ash edge in the finish that really hits the spot.
A great option for introducing mezcal to someone. Sweet notes of vanilla bean, succulents, and dried grass. My bottle is from Maestro Santiago Matatlán and features an approachable smokiness. For the price in CAD, I'd grab a bottle for something entry level that's a refined expression via the copper pot usage but it lacks character for that same reason.
