Michter's US*1 Barrel Strength Rye

Version i had was 120 proof. All alcohol and bitter.

Aroma - smells like I took maple syrup and butterscotch and drizzled it on homemade pancakes. I’m not getting any rye spice presence or notes here at all. Man I hope the taste follows the nose bc this is incredible. Taste - YUP! Follows the nose. Maple, butterscotch and pancake batter. There is a bit more rye presence here midpalate but then caramel at the backend of the palate takes away any residual rye presence. Overall - absolutely one of the best whiskies I have ever had. The finish is maple syrup , caramel and butterscotch that coats the entire palate that never seems to go away.

A touch of sweet but mostly big vanilla butterscotch flavors with a bit of spice on the finish. Amazing.
