Reviewed July 15, 2024A complex, Sichuan Baijiu, by the Luzhou Laojiao Distillery in Luzhou, China made from sorghum fermented in Baijiu pits; then distilled in traditional Chinese pot stills & matured for up to 2 years before the Master Blender creates their potion. It has a tropical birth with notes of green apple peel, papaya, guava & melon; while a spicy life adds notes of peppercorn, pineapple & anise; that leads to a long & earthy death with notes of forest floor & barnyard. Reviewed October 30, 2023 (edited January 10, 2024)Intense blueberry and pepper on the nose. The palette is sweet, with pleasant, funky acidity and notes of blueberries, licorice and green apple. Intense licorice on the finish, like you've eaten a handful of licorice allsorts! Very pleasant spirit with great drinking and mixing potential.33.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed February 15, 2022 (edited May 27, 2024)My first baiju, so I was quite unprepared for what this experience had in store. The nose was rife of fruity aromas, specifically passion fruit. It was much sweeter than expected, and upon tasting, was met with a surprisingly almost moldy cheesy flavor. I’ll say this, it was a unique experience, and the first sip was great, but subsequent ones were met with consternation. That being said, I’d try it again. I imagine this genre of spirit is one that grows in favorability over time.
