Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt

I think this is an underscored whiskey when it comes to the Distiller rating. The bottle I tried was marked as 86 proof, but either way was an awesome whiskey. Fruity and sweet definitely describes the whiskey with a smooth flavor across the pallet. The blend is solid coming from a lineup of quality distilleries, and it definitely does not disappoint for the price.

Spicier AND fruitier than I expected. Really like the malt and a bit sweet. Spice lingers on the tongue and the malt emerges. Pretty happy with the flavor for the money. Not my favorite but it will do fine on a fall day. Will always keep it in my cabinet. [2.7.16] Knocked off the second bottle during Super Bowl L on a bike trainer. Worked up a decent sweat and found a new level of flavor complexity.

Smooth and citrus fruit to start. Light peat and spicy cinnimon finish. Not spectacular but a nice after work drink. I would like to give it 3.5 stars. I like the light peat and preferred it on the rocks, that made it even smoother.
