Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon

First taste wasn’t as good as after I let it breath a few minutes, and aroma is also better and sweeter with time. The warmth and mint lingers on the tongue. It would probably make a good Mint Julip.

Smell and pallet are black licorice. Good overall experience. Little mouth burn and slight hug. Solid proof. Value is incredible.

Vanilla on the nose, rich with a nice burn on the finish. Great Bourbon, especially for the money.

I found Old Forester 100 to be a bit richer than Old Forester 86, but it too has a fairly strong alcohol bite. It has the classic bourbon flavor, but isn't very complex. To me there is very little sweetness and maybe a bit of cinnamon and baking spice. There's a definite woody ethanol flavor with some warm rye spice on the finish. Not too bitter, and not a lot of aftertaste. This is definitely one best enjoyed with a little water to mellow it out.

Fruity and spicy

Well done! I love the nose... starts with a sweet spark and leads on into a tray of assorted fruits coated in cinnamon. The taste is incredibly diverse and although it doesn’t coat your mouth in oily flavor, the different notes punch through on separate sips. Very impressed by this and glad I added it to the shelf

Excellent value for the money on this bottle. This is very good whisky for just 21 dollars a bottle. Vanilla, cherry, stone fruit, and lots of cocoa on the palate. Finish is dry and spicy and leaves with a cocoa flavor on the roof of your mouth. Has just enough rye to finish with a dry pepper kick which I happen to love. Great bottle, highly recommend this bottle for the price. Well done Old Forrester! This is a must have bottle in your bar.
