Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon

Very drinkable bourbon for under $25.

Tried it neat and then used it to make an Old Fashioned. I liked both. As a neat dram it had that bourbon sweetness with hints of caramel and orange. The spicy rye comes through too. It makes a good Old Fashioned too. The sugar and dilution from the ice bring out the sweetness of the bourbon. Pairs well with the Orange twist. I recommend two things if you can acquire them. Fee Bros Black Walnut bitters and a Luxardo Cherry.

Spice and citrus on the nose. Slightly hot, a little burnt sugar, lots of sweetness, fruity. Lingering fruity finish. Dry heat on the back end.

Solid bourbon, and my first bottled-in-bond. I was happy.
