Nippy Sweetie sample -- sat on the balcony at 5am in 27 degree Australian summer heat and decided to pop open this sample.
Strong oak flavours, slight salted caramel and mocha on the nose. A little salty in the aftertaste with some brine and ... damp clothes (?) ^_^ but that might be the humidity
Would consider investing in a bottle
This one comes very highly rated. Colour is medium. Nose: Sea salt and damp soft wood. Palate: a wave of Sweetness, lovely mouthfeel. Too subtle for me at this point to pick out the details but I really enjoy it. This might be the perfect "scotch". Finish: smooth and too short. 92/100.
Overall a decent dram, with its notes of vanilla, citrus, brine, faint smoke. Not a great whisky, but a good one to have around. Might make a pleasant introduction to Scotch whisky for the first-timer. Mid 80's for me.
