Pike Creek 10 Year Rum Barrel Finish

Rum influence is super heavy, first nosing could almost mistake as a rum. Taste is pretty ethenol forward with vanilla and maple but the rum finish shows up. Worked pretty well for a group where rum is preferred over whiskey.

Sweet, rye-y and fruit and spicy nose.

I like this one! It's a bit on the sweet side, and there is a nice mouthfeel, a richer taste, presumably from the rum barrels. Little alcohol burn. Otherwise it has the oakiness and vanilla notes I like, with no peat or smokiness. And the price is great. I will buy this again.

Fried bananas in cinnamon on the nose becomes a rummy eggnog with a lemon and vanilla finish.
