Clément VSOP Rhum Agricole

Nose: Pineapple, papaya, toasted caramel, a really sweet floral character, and (for lack of a better word) fresh cardboard. Palate: Underripe banana, pressed sugarcane, more of that cardboard, and a fair amount of smoky chilis in dark chocolate. Not as sweet as I expected. Pretty different from the other rums of the world besides rhum barbancourt.

Ottimo rum agricolo dalla Martinica

I love this rum. It’s aged in ex-bourbon casks, and that whiskey flavor shines through. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have guessed that this was a rum if I didn’t know otherwise. I’m eager to try this in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.

Sweet nose, fruity and light taste. Less herbaceous than I expected. Enjoyed it way more than I expected.
