Ry3 Cask Strength Private Reserve Rum Cask Finish

Tried neat thanks to @Looneyhead No the nares its sweet with notes of caramel, almonds, brown sugar. on the palate its rather hot which i was expecting. With notes of honey, brown sugar, and vanilla

Hit as a firecracker but w some great tastes throughout. Classic rye.

Was just given a FREE sample in the store. In hindsight, the cost was too high. I love a good rye, but this missed the mark. The backend is especially rough.

Batch 3, bottle 188, 62.1%, Herbal nose Willett style backbone, honey, peppery, more herbs. Marzipan and dill. Spicy finish. Slightly sweet not dry

Starts smooth then gets spicy quick. Finishes with a odd aftertaste. Not a huge fan.

Batch 3, Bottle 131, “Exclusively for Mississippi”. The rum cask certainly stands out on the nose, adding a sweeter compliment to the strong rye. Other notes include sunflower seeds, pear, dark chocolate, brine, sherry, char, caramel and grass. A fair amount of heat opens the palate, followed by a rich sweetness. Cinnamon dominates throughout, but there are also chocolate, stewed apple, burnt caramel, cherry, vanilla and of course, rye. A bit of red Twizzler on the back end. I’m maybe getting a hint of rum at this stage, but can’t say definitively. Long, hot, peppery and spicy finish, again dominated by cinnamon with a peppery and slightly piney aftertaste. Lovely stuff, but not to be used to intro your mom, your lighter side, or anyone else, to ryes.
